1. Scope & Purpose
This Privacy Policy explains how FlowSequences accesses, processes, and protects information when you create and run automations. It applies to all releases of FlowSequences distributed through Google Play.
2. Information Accessed & On-Device Processing
Depending on the sequences you create and the Android permissions you grant, FlowSequences processes the following data exclusively on your device:
- Notification Information (Notification Listener): If you enable the Emergency Call Breakthrough feature, FlowSequences utilizes Android's NotificationListenerService solely to detect incoming call notifications and evaluate repeated call counts within your configured time window. Notification content is processed in memory and immediately discarded. No audio, call recordings, message bodies, or non-call notification contents are ever stored or recorded.
- Contacts (Read Contacts): When using Emergency Call Breakthrough, the app uses read-only contact access to match incoming caller telephone numbers against saved contact names (e.g., recognizing that an incoming call from "Mom" corresponds to your emergency rule for her number). Your contact list is queried locally on-demand and is never copied, uploaded, or shared.
- NFC (Near Field Communication): Used solely when you scan or write NFC tags within the NFC Hub to trigger automations. Tag IDs are stored locally in the app's encrypted database.
- Wi-Fi & Network State: Checks Wi-Fi SSID and connectivity state to trigger network-specific routines (such as home or office sequences).
- Bluetooth & Nearby Devices: Detects connections to paired accessories (e.g. car Bluetooth or headphones) to launch driving or media sequences.
- Battery & Charging State: Monitors battery percentage and power connection status to trigger power-saving routines.
- Location (Fine/Coarse): Evaluates geofencing boundaries for location-based sequences (e.g., "when arriving home"). Location data is processed on-device and is never sent to any server.
- Sound & System Settings: Modifies sound modes (Silent, Vibrate, Normal), ringer volume, and Do Not Disturb (DND) state as requested by your automated actions.
3. AccessibilityService API Usage & Disclosure
FlowSequences utilizes Android's AccessibilityService API (
android.accessibilityservice.AccessibilityService) to provide core automation features as described below.
1. Purpose of AccessibilityService API:
FlowSequences utilizes Android's AccessibilityService API solely for the legitimate, user-facing purpose of detecting when specific, user-selected target applications are opened or brought to the foreground. This window-state event detection allows FlowSequences to trigger deterministic, user-defined automation routines (for example: enabling specific device profiles, launching companion settings, or initiating customized actions when a designated app is opened).
2. What Information Is Accessed:
- Window & App State Change Events: The service observes foreground window state changes exclusively to identify the package name of the actively opened application, matching it against the specific trigger rules created by the user.
3. Strict Data Protection & Non-Collection:
- No Personal Data Collection: FlowSequences does NOT collect, record, log, store, or transmit any sensitive information, personal user data, identity details, or credentials through the AccessibilityService.
- No Keystroke or Input Logging: FlowSequences does NOT monitor, record, capture, or log keystrokes, password fields, PINs, or keyboard inputs.
- No Screen Content or Message Reading: FlowSequences does NOT read, scrape, capture, screenshot, or record on-screen text, chats, personal messages, banking details, or UI content.
- No UI Manipulation or Hijacking: FlowSequences does NOT perform automated screen clicks, taps, gestures, or UI interactions on behalf of other applications without explicit user intent, does NOT alter user settings without permission, and does NOT bypass Android security restrictions or parental controls.
- Zero Cloud Transmission: All accessibility event evaluations occur strictly in-memory and 100% locally on your device. No accessibility data is ever transmitted to remote servers, third-party analytics, or advertisers.
4. User Consent, Control & Revocation:
- Prominent In-App Disclosure: FlowSequences displays an explicit, prominent in-app disclosure explaining why AccessibilityService is needed before directing the user to enable it.
- Entirely Optional: Granting Accessibility permission is strictly optional. Users who do not configure app-launch triggers can utilize all other routine triggers (NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, battery, schedules, and notifications) without enabling AccessibilityService.
- Revocable at Any Time: You can disable or revoke this permission at any time by navigating to: Android Settings > Accessibility > Installed Apps / Downloaded Services > FlowSequences > Turn Off.
4. How Information Is Used
All information accessed is used strictly to evaluate deterministic WHEN → AND → THEN conditions configured by the user. FlowSequences does not use AI profiling, algorithmic advertising, or behavioural data tracking.
5. Emergency Call Breakthrough & Safety
The Emergency Call Breakthrough feature allows you to define a repeated call rule (e.g., 3 calls within 5 minutes) that switches your phone from Silent or Vibrate mode to Normal mode with maximum ring volume so urgent calls are not missed. This feature operates entirely via local Android notification and audio manager APIs without requiring restricted call log access.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
Because all routine definitions and execution logs reside exclusively in the local Room database on your device:
- You can clear all execution history at any time from inside the app's Settings / Activity tab.
- Uninstalling the app or clearing app storage from Android Settings permanently deletes all local routines and data.
- No residual user data remains on any cloud server because no cloud server exists for FlowSequences.
7. Third-Party Sharing & Advertising
FlowSequences does not sell, lease, or share personal information with third parties. The app contains:
- No advertising SDKs
- No analytics or crash trackers
- No social media login SDKs
8. Permissions & User Control
All permissions required by FlowSequences are optional and requested only when you configure a feature that requires them. You can review, grant, or revoke permissions at any time through Android Settings > Apps > FlowSequences > Permissions.
9. Security
FlowSequences relies on Android's secure application sandbox, runtime permission architecture, and local encrypted SQLite database storage. Because data does not leave your device, exposure to remote data interception is eliminated.
10. Children's Privacy
FlowSequences is a general productivity tool suitable for all audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other user group.
11. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as new features are added to FlowSequences. Any updates will be reflected with a revised Effective Date on this page and in the app listing.
